These drums possess great tone and projection due to the die cast hoops and the thickness of the Advanced Acousticon shells. Made with a prefabricated wood that gives the shell a thickness and pitch falling between maple and birch, the shells offer consistent, 45 degree routed bearing edges with strong tonal projection. The shells are 5/16 inches thick.

Advanced Acousticon
The new state-of-the-art Advanced Acousticon material, developed over four years, utilizes high technology in its construction perhaps more than any previous shell. The continuous, one piece wrap of the Advanced Acousticon makes for a denser, better sounding drum. Because of its "uni-body" construction, there are no mismatched plies of wood and all shells are constructed to exacting thicknesses, resulting in a sound with focus and articulation.
