The M series now features a Birch shell with an outer ply of Maple. This gives the sound of the drum more attack than the previous basswood shell, but maintains the great tone and volume with the mixed Maple outer ply.

The Mapex Orion Classic comes in custom sizes and features a 6 ply traditional all maple shell. Other specifications include 24k gold-plated lugs and Mapex's ITS isolated mounting system. The bass drum mount "floats" over the bass drum and offers a 2" front to back positioning for limitless set-up options.

Bass drums also feature ITS spurs, recessed drumkey tension rods and matching maple bass hoops. The floor tom again offers ITS on the leg boxes which are spring-loaded for easy set-up.

The kit is available in 11 finishes and includes their attractive "wax" lacquering.
