The Special Edition SPD-SX is identical in functionality to the orginal SPD-SX, but what is more this special edition offers improved memory and storage capabilities by going from from 4GB to 16GB. The new, upgraded memory can now store up to 50 hours of mono samples or 25 hours stereo; meaning you don't need to carry any external memory.

The Special Edition SPD-SX is a perfect addition for professional players looking for a truly extensive range of sound, this pad features over 100 drum kits, three onboard multi-effects processors for powerful real-time sound processing while performing and an Ableton Live Lite license included for sophisticated sample creation. Not only that there are nine easy-to-play, velocity-sensitive rubber pads with LED illumination ideal for dark stage environments and multi-pad sampling allows you to sample directly into the SPD-SX, just simply choose a pad and then strike it to start sampling. When it comes to managing your sound, Roland have you covered there too, not only do you have an impressive amount of storage, you can easily import, assign and organise samples by connecting to your computer via USB and then use the included Wave Manager software CD-ROM.
