Pro-Mark FireGrain drumsticks are just that, flame-fired and heat-tempered to perfection to create an enhanced hickory that is dripping with durability and longevity. Hickory before it has been put through this process is a medium weight, durable hardwood that creates a decent amount of resonance when being used, now once you subject it to the flames all those qualities intensify! More durability, more longevity and with less moisture held within the core it is undeniably strengthened; this allows you to play faster, harder and longer than ever before!
The original weight, balance and attack are all the same, as well as the 15 3/8" length and 0.512" diameter, even after they've been flame fired. Each and every pair of Pro-Mark drumsticks are designed and manufactured in the USA under scrupulous quality controls and the Classic 7A FireGrain sized drumsticks are no different. The 7A sized drumsticks are the most common thin sized sticks amongst drummers. They are a lot more streamlined than some of the other drumsticks available and are ideal for orchestral use or settings.
