Here at the Newcastle Drum Centre we spend half of our time fixing your broken drums, re-heading your kits and helping you get your tuning just right. If you want any info on any of these services, just get in touch and we'll help you out.

We're happy to offer advice on any drum related issue, so feel free to ask. We always try to offer advice in line with the kind of things that drum tutors are likely to recommend and can give you the benefit of many years of experience on what's best for you.

How do I choose my first drum kit?

The universe of drumming can be overwhelming and hard to understand, and that's why we're here for you. There can be hundreds of types of shells, finishes, sizes, configurations and brands and we fully understand this and the fact that it can be difficult to pick a first drum kit. That's why we's put together a complete guide to drumming for beginners which will help you pick your first drum kit. Read More

Where do I repair my drum kit? / Where can I get spare parts from?

Most items we sell come with at least a 1 year manufacturers warranty, so if an item that you have bought from us has developed a fault and needs replacing under warranty, you should get in touch with us and we can arrange a repair or replacement by working with the manufacturers or distributors directly.

If you just need something fixed and warranty isn't an issue, we can usually help you anyway. We've seen it all in our time and we're great at fixing things. You should get in touch with us in the first instance and we'll probably recommend that you pop your broken item down to the store (or post it) and we'll see what we can do.

We don't charge for the labour costs for a general repair, (for example fixing your squeaky pedal) although if you need very large amount of work doing we may have to charge. If you are worried you might be asked to pay for labour costs, get in touch and let us know what the problem is and we'll advise you from there.

There will often be a charge for the parts we use to get your gear up and running again although if the part we need is in stock (and it often is) we'll usually manage to keep costs to a minimum.

We don't often come out to fix your gear, but for some educational establishments or similar we're happy to arrange to do so. We know how much wear and tear your school equipment gets and it's a good plan to keep it in good working order as it prolongs its lifetime.

Where do I get my drum kit tuned?

We don't mind playing with your drums and trying to make them sound a bit better. In most cases you can do it yourself with a little bit of advice. If you're currently taking lessons try asking your tutor in the first instance if that's at all possible. If not, get in touch and ask. If you bring your drums down to us, we can usually help you out and do our best with them. We won't charge you for this as long as the time it takes is within reason.

Do you accept Part Exchange?

We often accept Part Exchange as part payment towards the total value of a drum kit. We will only ever offer you a final price once we've seen your gear first hand and had an opportunity to inspect it. In the first instance, get in touch with us or if possible email us some pictures and as good a description as possible. If you live far from us, we can arrange carriage to collect your gear and bring it to the store, although you will have to pay for this service. At any rate, get in touch with us directly and we can take it from there.

Do you accept Returns?

Yes, we believe that we need to keep our customers happy. The distance selling laws apply when returning any goods which have been purchased online, the customer will need to send the goods back with an authorised returns number. A returns authorisation number is called an 'RA number' simply email or call us on 0191 2210301 and we will be happy to issue this number, please note that refunds cannot be given on postage if you have simply changed your mind.

Face to face selling has different laws but once again being a small shop we are only telephone call away.

Can I hire a drum kit?

We regularly supply hire kits and percussion for all kinds of events. The first thing to do is to get in touch and let us know what your needs are. We most frequently supply a mid level kit for gigs, festivals and other events, but we've supplied all kinds of percussion, spare stands and all sorts for any musicians in need. Let us know your requirements and we'll price it up and book you in.
